Aim for Redundancy
If I can, I make sure I have extra of anything I use. Don’t have one work laptop, have multiple that will do. Have good wifi, and a phone capable of being a good hotspot with unlimited data. Have extra food in the pantry, and make sure you can eat it without cooking. Impractical to have two houses? Fine, but make sure you can stay with close friends.
I don’t understand how anyone could consider this foolish, or a waste of time.
The news is always bad (partly because terrible doom and gloom headlines generate more attention). Instead of getting upset or scared, a better reaction is to laugh sometimes. Not because the state of the world is funny, or this changes it — it’s still bad. This isn’t to make light of the very real issues out there. Rather, getting worked up over things you can’t directly control doesn’t do any good, and just makes your situation worse. Why depress yourself?
Some may say that this will make people apathetic, but I doubt it. Scared and frustrated people are less likely to act, and do anything good. People who don’t let negativity get to them are more likely to be healthier and happier, and thus improve the world more.
All that says is that you do not respect that person, that you value their time lower than yours.
I’ll miss Micron’s in house brand for high performance ram, Ballistix. Most companies that actually sell ram just buy it from one of the three main suppliers (Micron, Samsung, SK Hynix), and repackage it. It’s difficult to figure out what exact ram chips you are getting with these companies. With Micron’s, you could typically look up the model name, and figure out exactly what you were getting.
Most people have heard of Bitcoin or Ethereum or Crypto. Less have heard Blockchain, or Monero, much less understands it.
If you mention the word Cypherpunk to almost anyone, they won’t have a clue what you are talking about.
Often times we live our lives like clockwork, eat at the same time, do this at the same time, etc. This isn’t a good strategy. Listen to your body more, and do as it says.
It’s nice to know the simple way to do it, no magic installer or anything.
Today I took my first cold shower in awhile — It’s something that has always made me feel good in the past, but is unconformable in the moment. It always seems to make me sleep better, and have more energy, so I’m going to try for 30 days of at least a little cold every shower, and see here that takes me. If I’m satisfied with the results, I will integrate cold showers into my routine permanently.
